Big Bear Alpine Zoo is the ideal place for injured, orphaned and imprinted wildlife to recover. Listed as one of two alpine zoos in the entire US, this facility offers a safe haven that can be temporary or permanent depending on each animal’s circumstances. Most animals staying at this zoo are from San Bernardino Mountains and take refuge here while they heal back up to full health again.
The Big Bear Alpine Zoo has over 127 resident animals, including bald eagles and black bears. You can also find a variety of other incredible species like mountain lions and coyotes. Each animal residing in this zoo has its own unique story that is sure to fascinate and educate visitors about the importance of protecting our environment.
At the Big Bear Alpine Zoo, visitors can explore the animal habitats and observe them in their natural environment. Guests are encouraged to take part in interactive activities such as feeding tours, photography programs and educational presentations that will teach everyone how to help protect wildlife.
